Physician - Trauma Surgeon

JOB AD: Physician (General/Trauma Surgeon)
Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for Physicians to partner with us in providing medical services to UN sponsored Kenyan Peacekeepers and US Government staff at a field hospital in Port Au Prince, Haiti. This will be a deployed, rotational contract, ideally with a 3 month on, 1 month off, rotation cycle.
The team will be based in a secure, purpose-built camp and hospital facility in Port au Prince, Haiti, and all service delivery requirements will be conducted within the confines of that facility. All support services are being provided by the US Government, including camp facilities and basic life support requirements, including travel, meals, accommodation, internet, and other ancillary support services.
Aspen Medical will provide a Level 2 Field Hospital with EMS, Pre-Hospital Care, Surgical, Diagnostic and Laboratory, and other ancillary services. All clinic service delivery services will be provided in accordance with US clinical standards and compliance measures.

Citizenship
- All Aspen Medical staff must be US citizens or Green Card holders.

Education:
- Completion of a M.D. degree program and general surgery residency. License requirements are completion of medical school and residency program and taking and passing residency exams. Duties are to repair and treat general internal injuries. In addition to performing general surgical procedures, make diagnoses, conduct follow-up, and advise patients on other recuperative or preventative healthcare measures. Board certified, completing a residency and training program, and passing examinations. PGY-5 chief surgical resident experience

- Contractor personnel are required to possess a license in the state in which they will practice and provide services under this contract such that medical providers are authorized to conduct the independent practice of clinical services as a condition of employment. This license shall be current (not revoked, suspended, or lapsed in registration), valid (the issuing authority accepts and considers QA information (i.e. practitioner professional performance and conduct in determining continued licenses)), and unrestricted (not subject to restriction pertaining to the scope, location, or type of practice ordinarily granted to other applicants for similar licenses in granting jurisdiction).This is a change to the original requirement and may be accomplished through specific state licensing or authorization to practice by the regulatory authority in the state(s) in which the contractor personnel are providing independent clinical care and services.
- PGY-5 chief surgical resident experience (5 years)
- Current, valid American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Fluency in Haitian Creole and/or French is highly desired
