JOB AD: Surgical Technologists/Nurses
Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for Surg Techs to partner with us in providing medical services to UN sponsored Kenyan Peacekeepers at a field hospital in Port Au Prince, Haiti. This will be a deployed, rotational contract offering various rotational deployment cycles. 
The team will be based in a secure, purpose-built camp and hospital facility in Port au Prince, Haiti, and all service delivery requirements will be conducted within the confines of that facility.  
Aspen Medical will provide a Level 2 Field Hospital with EMS, Pre-Hospital Care, Surgical, Diagnostic and Laboratory, and other ancillary services.
Qualification Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program (university) or accredited diploma in surgical technology or perioperative nursing (three to four years) after high school graduation.
  • Training should include theoretical and practical components in operating room techniques, surgical instrumentation, and aseptic procedures.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible clinical experience in perioperative nursing, operating theatre practice, or surgical technology, including participation in emergencies or trauma surgery.
  • Must have current and valid certification or documented training in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) awareness, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Surgical Scrub Techniques or equivalent.
  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Aseptic Technique within the last 12 months is required.
  • Must be currently registered and licensed by a national nursing or technologist regulatory council/board in their respective country or another UN Member State.
  • License validity should cover the entire deployment duration.
  • Instead of licensure (where applicable), a certificate of good standing from the relevant national authority must be provided.
  • Completion of board-certified or post-graduate specialty training in perioperative nursing, surgical assistance, or operating room technology by an appropriate recognized body in a UN Member State.
  • At least two (2) years of clinical practice as a licensed surgical technologist or perioperative nurse, with demonstrated competency in instrument handling, surgical field preparation, and intraoperative assistance under sterile conditions.
  • Currently registered and authorized to practice perioperative nursing or surgical technology independently, without supervision, in his/her own country or another UN Member State.  
Language Proficiency: 
  • Fluency in Haitian Creole and/or French is highly desired. 
  • English proficiency-a minimum of Level B 2 is required
This position will be a 1099 contractor, with a fixed daily rate while on rotation. You will not receive pay while off rotation.
